Note 2: There is a lewd CG buried within the game. Note 1: Hotaru made me die of cuteness many times. If not, it's still makes a good read, even without the context of the main story. If you liked the original game, then this is an easy recommendation. Improved romance over the original game.Īll in all, I'd say this is an improvement over the original game is various regards, like the writing, the romance and the localization. The new dateable characters are very good. They got more daring with this one, and I'm not about to complain. Finally, the developers upped the ante when it comes to fanservice. Oh, and oppai are now boobs, as it should. There are still spellimg mistakes here and there, but they aren't even remotely as numerous as the original game. That said, the game supports higher resolutions now, and the localization work is far better than the original game. The artwork, character artstyle, sound effects, animations and voice acting remained pretty much unchanged. I remember when I thought she'd be an antagonist, but boy I was wrong, and her route proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt. Akari's character arc I liked the most, because it's not rushed, and it was well executed. Kanako doesn't strike me as a character who needs an arc. Hotaru also has a character arc, and it's done mainly well, although a bit rushed. So, I'd say Isuka is the one with the character arc, and not Amane, and, overall, was well executed, with some hiccups here and there, especially when creating tension and drama. Amane, on the other hand, remains basically the same character through her afterstory, and it focuses more on her estranged friend from school, how they come to know each other, and how their relationship progressed after Isuka returned to Amane's life. Fortunately, this isn't the case of a character going through the same arc all over again, because that'd show narrative regression, and it's indicative of lazy writing. Basically, it shows how she deals with uncertainty. The way the writers did this didn't seem forced, because it's rooted in how Kotori was written at this point. In her afterstory, Kotori must face some new challenges that makes her stray from her path. I liked her route, more than the other two, but it has some minor conveniences (and inconveniences), and the romance was very tame, but that's not much of an issue, due to how Akari is written. In the original game, it's hinted that she has a brewing crush towards Aoi, and this story addresses that plot point. The last story is a paid DLC and it's Akari's route. The sixth one is a short side story told from Kotori's perspective, in journal format, and all I can say about it is that didn't contradicted past events. It takes place after Yoru's route, and is more romance than anything. The fifth story is a short but intense one. The romance was pretty damn good, though.

It was, in one word, anticlimactic, which is a shame, because I liked Kanako. The fourth story is Kanako's route, and this one has a major writing issue, because the big payoff of her route was resolved by a throwaway line at the end. That said, the romance is very good, and I'm glad the developers stepped up their game in this regard. The route is decently written, but I wished the writers took more risks with this one, because the writing feels too safe. The third story is Hotaru's route, Ageha's younger sister. Both afterstories don't contradict previously established events, which is a good thing, for consistency's sake. There is more tension and drama, albeit a bit forced in some cases. The second story takes place after the end of Amane's route, and this one has a more solid sense of a plot. but it's mainly due to the fact that the plot is pretty basic and easy to write without falling into major inconsistencies. The first story takes place after the end of Kotori's route, and, overall, it hasn't any major writing issues. Since it hasn't a overarching plot, I'll review the different stories of the game separately, and I'll only analyze the characters with afterstories or new routes. I had to admit this game improved on things the original game was lacking, but it still has some issues. To get the third new route, you'll need to pay for it, since it's separate from the base game) and a short side story told in journal format. It features three afterstories, three additional routes (technically are two. This game hasn't an overarching plot or dating sim mechanics it features some additional stories that have connection with the main game. This is an expansion of "If My Heart Had Wings" (what a cheesy title), from the same developers as the original game. So, I didn't know the game had an expansion, and now, here we are.
